SUDARSANA CAKRA

Therefore, it is believed that these two temples were popular during the 12th century A.D. when the Srivaisnava philosophical aspects have been systematized.

Sudarsana-Narasimha
There are temples dedicated to Narasimha at Solangipuram and Tiruvallikkeni. Both of them are known for their power and devotees are worshipping them for achieving their worldly pleasure. Especially, in Solangipuram, Narasimha is known as remover of ill-effect of Bhuta and Pisaca or ghosts and evil forces. The well-known two powerful deities, Sudarsana and Narasimha are united in Yantra-form in Ahirbudnya samhita. The Vaisnava tradition of the 13th century got the benefit of this yantra and transformed it into the iconographic form which resulted in the Sudarsana-Narasimha image.

In Ahirbudnya samhita chapter 25 there is a yantra by name "Sudarsana narasimha yantra" by which one can achieve everything in life. Sudarsana himself has been desired as Sakti of Vishnu, Narasimha is known for his power.

As we have seen from Ahirbudnya Samhita and Lakshmitantra worship of Sudarsana fulfils the desire of the individual. Paramasamhita in chapter 16, describes the important following four mantras which provide the individual all benefits worldly or heavenly: Varaha, Narasimha Sikara and Sudarsana.

Here one can see the Narasimha mantra and Sudarsana mantra are grouped together as Kamya mantras.
